We loved it here! Our cook was super friendly and the food was very good! The layout is super open so you are able to see everyone in the restaurant, a little kooky. Although we will totally go again!!

We had a reservation at Benihana's for my sons birthday. When we got there they said they could not accommodate us because they had too many call offs and only had 4 servers. My son wanted hibachi for his birthday so we went to house of Japan without a reservation. They seated us quickly and were so kind. Our server Kristin was awesome and our Chef Wes was amazing! Food was great and service was awesome. So glad we came to house of Japan! Will never go back to Benihana again!!! Thanks for making his birthday special!

Best Hibachi food in Columbus. I always get the filet and scallop combo with the best egg yolk sauce. Order extra fried rice for better leftovers.

Our family likes going to hibachi for special celebrations and we found ourselves at House of Japan for my brother's birthday last evening. All entrees include the mushroom soup, bacon salad and a shrimp appetizers. The chefs provide an interactive show but unfortunately due to their insurance they can no longer do the flamin' onion volcanoes. It still is fun to watch despite! Food is delicious and always huge portions with enough to take home. If you get any type of seafood make sure to get the egg yolk sauce--it's like hollandaise--and super yum. Prepare yourself for a pricey bill but for a special occasion it's worth it!

I definitely was looking for a different hibachi experience but I had to have egg yolk sauce with this so it was recommended to try House of Japan on Sanchus Boulevard at Polaris. It was a celebration of me getting a new job. I made reservations with Open Table app for 12:30pm lunch and it was necessary because it was very crowded. Not an empty seat in the house. The hostess after I told her my name led me to the table where I was sitting at which already had a place for me. They have a sign that said they cannot see you unless all parties are there. I noticed a party at 7 but only five were present so they had to wait for their other two to arrive. I ordered the imperial feast for one with an extra shrimp appetizer which was (6) pieces. The Imperial feast included steam rice, chicken, shrimp, and steak. There was a request from me to order egg yolk sauce on my chicken and on my shrimp. That is the BEST! The cook did the normal tricks with the eggs and the spatula while he was preparing fried rice for the others. My salad that comes with the meal I ask for the bacon bits & their house dressing to be removed and I use the yum yum sauce as my salad dressing. Nice hack! The usual cooking and dicing and slicing took place and as soon as the meal was completed and put on the plate hot! It was delicious. I will definitely rate them a 5 out of five because the whole experience didn't take a very long time for them to cook the meal yet it didn't seem rushed. I would definitely go to this restaurant again if I'm in this area. If not I will go to my tried and true Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse on South Hamilton Rd.
